We had an extremely hard time finding a gate that would meet our needs. This was the fifth gate we bought and it was the ONLY one that would work. We needed something tall that would fit at the top of stairs - one side was wall and the other a deeply set banister with a 3 inch lip. This gate was extremely easy to install and offers a lot of choices for customizations to fit every need.We have had the gate up for over a year now and are very pleased. Our son routinely hangs on it, shakes it, and pounds it. One portion of the gate did begin to loosen (not compromising the gate) and I called Regalo and they sent a replacement part for free. The problem? They used plastic to connect the the gate to the hinge...my baby broke it. It turns out this was the exact one for me! After using for three months it has worked out even better than I had hoped. The gate open's both ways which is a great feature that I never really thought of. I also really like that the gate glides to expand or contract so I don't have to swing 48" at the top of the stairs. The gate is 50" wide and 35" tall which makes it perfect for my house. I have taken this gate directly off the hinges and out of the stairway when guest come over. This feature allows me to place the gate in and out of the stairway when need. Overall, I love this gate and would defiantly recommend it. FIVE STARS! |
