Assembly was easy, we haven't tried to take it apart yet. The mattress is soft enough for our little one who would otherwise sleep on an even firmer crib mattress so I think she loves the soft and cozy "bassinet". As a matter of fact, she sleeps the best in this thing.We live in a small 1BR NYC apt, so the size and dual usability of this is great for us. She's too young to sit up yet, but we look forward to using the napper in that way. As the other reviewer said, it doesn't rock too much, but it isn't a complaint for us. My one complaint is that the toy attachment does not swing out of the way when you try to move the baby in and out of the napper. I have a son, 5 weeks old, who has had a very hard time sleeping in his crib or anything else. I purchased a bouncer, a bassinet, and a nap nanny - none of which he likes. He gets fussy after just a few minutes of laying down on any surface - except a full-size bed or mommy/daddy. However, this Napper has changed our lives!!! He LOVES it! He loves to play in it - the play pieces can extend to move within his reach. He falls asleep after about 15-20 minutes of playtime and I don't have to move him. He sleeps either in the recline position or just left in the play angle. The rocker motion is suitable for this age - after all, you don't want to catapult your little guy! The padding is very comfortable and the rocker was easy to assemble. My son enjoys the music variety and the lights. Mostly he enjoys trying to grab the soft hanging objects.
