5.0 out of 5 stars Great Chair!, February 1, 2008
When my oldest son was a baby, we bought this as a less-expensive, portable alternative to a high chair. He recently turned four, and has long since graduated to sitting at the table in a "real" chair, and his little brother, who just turned two, is now using it. It's been through a lot, and is still sturdy and strong.

We have family in other states, and we take this seat with us when we visit. It is a big plus for us that it is relatively small and portable.

It's also very easy to keep clean. All pads and straps are removable and can be washed with the laundry, and the tray and the bottom part of the seat can go in the dishwasher. The back and sides of the seat have been through the dishwasher once or twice as well, but it was necessary to remove the top rack to fit them in.

The tray still snaps tight enough so that when my son hooks his toes under the edge and kicks, it still doesn't pop off.

All in all, I am extremely happy with this... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars Very functional and cheap, July 9, 2008
By
Captain Morgan (Vancouver, BC, Canada) - See all my reviews
We bought this because we were so nervious about our 11 month old boy bouncing/jumping so hard on his hook on chair! We have a Peg Perego high chair at Grandma's but personally, I think they are overpriced! I bought mine for $40 in Canada; Peg Perego's go for over $200 and the Fisher Price Space Saver is $70 locally.

The good: I'm very happy with the booster seat so far. The plastic piece between the legs and the smaller seat depth help to prevent slouching, which was a big problem in our other, very old model Peg Perego. Also, he can get fidgety getting in/out of seats so having the "crotch block" gives me some reassurance. While he can sit independently on the floor, he seems much more comfortable (ie. doesn't squirm) in the slight recline position. Being able to adjust the tray position close to the belly has reduced the amount of crumbs I normally find on his lap. I like the 3 point belt since he doesn't need the upper body restraint; it's so much easier to put it on... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Great chair for a wide range of ages., September 17, 2008

My mother-in-law has this chair at her house, which saves her from having a highchair for my son. He has used it since he was an infant, and he's now 3 1/2. He still loves it. The vinyl pad is easily cleaned, and the base is solid (no cracks for food to go into). The tilt feature means you can use it from an early age. Just a great value.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love this swing!, April 28, 2008

We purchased this swing when my son was about one month old. He loves it! He really likes the bright colors of the mobile animals and used to stare at them in amazement. As he has gotten older (he's now over 4 months), he gets bored a little more easily, so he doesn't like to stay in it for as long as he used to. I usually use the swing when I need to get things done around the house and can't take him along - like cook meals. I'm sad that he's quickly approaching the weight limit of 20 pounds (he's a big kid), so we won't be able to use it for a longer period of time.

We bought this particular swing because of the bright colors, its ability to be plugged in, and because it can swing both side to side and front to back. We also liked the music choices. Most of the songs are easy to listen to and won't drive you crazy. There is even one choice of just animal sounds (birds chirping, etc). It's nice for when you really don't want music playing in the background of your phone... Read more

3.0 out of 5 stars Motor Lacking Enough Swing Power, December 21, 2006
By
WiSH (Virginia Beach, VA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Fisher-Price Rainforest Open-Top Cradle Swing (Baby Product)
I purchased this swing for my 4 month old daughter. I was enticed by the fact it was the only one I could locate that could be plugged into an outlet and work off household electricity rather than battery power. I imagined this would make the "swing" consistantly a better "swing" as there would never be a weak power source. The first swing I brought home from the store was assembled (which only took about 15 minutes) and plugged in. I was immediately disappointed by the lack of swing, and eventually my wife and I determined that there was definitely something wrong with the swing, because even with no baby the swing would stop swinging then slowly...and barely swing again. I returned it...and purchased another. I agree with the other reviewer that it just appears to take awhile for it to "warm" up. As I sit and watch her in the swing at this moment, it seems to be working okay, but I'm not totally convinced. The mobile rotates and the leaves move up and down. If the motor... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Buy, August 10, 2007
This review is from: Fisher-Price Rainforest Open-Top Cradle Swing (Baby Product)
We purchased this swing for our newborn son based on the fact that my wife uses one at the daycare she works at. Perhaps the biggest selling point for us was the fact that you have the option of using a plug-in adapter or batteries. Since just about every other item used for a baby takes batteries, it was nice to finally see a product with an A/C adapter. Other features that we like are the side-to-side or front-to-back swinging option, the wonderful mobile which features up-and-down movement, and the music/rainfall noises. All of these options work independently of one another, which makes this product even more appealing. We haven't had any problem with the swinging (or lack thereof) that others seem to be having. Sure, the swing doesn't move very fast, but I don't think my son is quite ready for roller coaster speeds just yet. My son seems very content while he naps in the swing as well.

Overall, I think that this swing is an excellent purchase for anyone in the... Read more

It's a great swing and I love that you can detach the seat easily with one hand and take it with you. Very handy for when I have to go potty and don't want to leave the baby unsupervised around my 18 month old and 4 year old. (18 Month old loves to hug too hard.) It was easy to put together. The seat cover is soft and cushy, and deep. Its swings well and I only have to use it on the lowest setting so far.

It has music and nature sounds, You can do one or the other, they do not combine. And don't expect much from the speaker, it sounds cruddy, but so does any baby toy speaker... The toys are pathetic! I don't think the baby will be able to reach them until she is about 6,7,8,9 months old! And even then they only spin 90 degrees, jiggle on a little spring and make a rather loud startling rattle sound. I am going to have to buy or make one of those stroller or carseat toys... Read more

4.0 out of 5 stars easy to assemble, cute, January 12, 2012
This review is from: Fisher-Price Swing 'n Rocker, City Park (Baby Product)
I put this together last night when I was bored. My husband had fallen asleep and I figured I'd try it out without him because I had assembled most of the new baby stuff myself anyway. I was right, it was easy.

The bouncer attaches and removes easily from the swing part. No problem there

The print is cute and colorful but not obnoxious, which is what I liked it about it from the beginning. It could a little comfier though. I think I will try and put my snuzzler in it for extra padding if i can, or maybe some soft blankies.

I wish it took up less space considering we have a pretty small house, but pretty much all swings/rockers/bouncers are big like this.

Swing works well. Music is adjustable so that music or nature sounds can be soft enough to soothe baby. Rocking is gentle. However, there is a slight rubbing noise. Would definitely recommend.
